Fiber and Fern Update
So, I have some news! As I write this, I am a little nervous…just wondering what you guys will think about it, even though I am confident in my decision.
I know it may come as a surprise to almost all of you, but here goes: I am unfortunately going to have to stop blogging (Note: I am not going to stop designing - just blogging:)
I recently came to this decision after a few weeks of praying, research, and assessing my families needs. A lot of things are changing for us this year as far as my family goes. I am starting to focus on homeschooling my oldest, prioritizing my mental and physical health, and taking other big steps in our life that will require more of my attention.
Starting out, I totally knew blogging was going to be a lot of work, and I was prepared for that! I don’t think a lot of people realize how much goes into all the aspects of blogging - to be honest, as much as I would LOVE people to think I have got it all together (but really who does?) blogging and juggling my family life has left me anxious and stressed. As much as I want to continue blogging - I am realizing that I need to let go of some things for my own mental health - as well as be a little more present for my family:) The hours I am putting into blogging now, won’t be sustainable in the future either - so I am trying to figure out a smarter way to put in less hours, and still provide lovely patterns for you guys!
What you can expect:
Definitely more patterns! Yay patterns! More designs! However, it may not be as frequent as it was when I was blogging. I am trying to spend more time finding joy in the process of making, and less stressing over my next design!
My free patterns will now be paid patterns starting in 2 weeks (10/15/18). So, be sure to print them off, and let your friends know that they only have a few more weeks left to get them - because they will be available JUST in a PDF format that you will have to pay for, in a couple of weeks!
You will still be able to buy and access my patterns on Ravelry, Craftsy, Etsy, and my website.
There will still be chances to get my patterns for free! I realize that a lot of you cannot afford to buy patterns, and I totally get that - because I have been there! That was literally my favorite thing about blogging, was providing patterns for free. So, I have decided to do giveaways every time I have a new pattern, so you can have a chance to get one then! These giveaways will occasionally include yarn… which we all know is the best kind of giveaway:) Secondly, I will be sending you a FREE PDF if you are on my email list once a quarter. This means you can get 4 free patterns a year, if you are on that list!:)
WHEW! This is really hard decision for me - because I have grown so much in this process and I am so proud of what I have accomplished, and the last thing I am is a “quitter” (even though I am not really quitting designing - just the blogging aspect of it). I was able to provide a part-time income for my family through blogging, and I am so thrilled that I pushed through to achieve that. Of course, that is all thanks to YOU guys for supporting me and encouraging me every step of the way! None of that could have been done without you.
Let me know if you have any questions, and I am so sorry for the inconvenience it might be to those of you who were looking forward to my free patterns. Please add yourself to my email list in the form at the bottom of the page, so that you can still get those 4 free patterns a year!
And… I think that about covers it! Goodness. Thank you so much to all of you for a great experience, and I hope you will still continue to buy patterns from me if you can- you will be seeing a lot more from me! Thank you lovelies!:)
P.S. Here is a picture of a puppy, in case the news made you sad! Puppies make everybody feel a little better:)
